The Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC®) has been around for more than 25 years and is taken by an estimated 4.5 million people every year. It is administered by Educational Testing Service (ETS) and is commonly used by corporations, educational institutions and government agencies from around the world for the purposes of recruitment and training.
From late 2006, ETS added two new sections to the TOEIC test, which up until that point had only catered to listening and reading skills. Now there are specialized speaking and writing sections that can be taken through Internet delivery, similar to the manner in which the iBT TOEFL is administered. These new parts of the test represent a considerable challenge to test takers with their explicit focus on productive (rather than receptive) skills.
OnlinEnglish.Net is currently developing a range of innovative free practice versions of the TOEIC speaking and writing sections. Students and teachers will soon be able to join us here online to develop the particular speaking and writing skills to do well on the TOEIC test.
